Our group is interested in the design, synthesis, and application of novel π-conjugated molecules, ranging from small molecular to macromolecular. Organic synthesis and polymer synthesis are often studied by different research fields and by different researchers because of the different molecular designs for synthesis and different ways of handling products, but we are tackling cross-scale synthesis targeting novel π-conjugated molecules with the belief that organic and macromolecular syntheses are the same synthetic chemistry. We also focus on developing synthetic methods to access topological π-conjugated molecular and polymer with new topologies because the topology and structure directly affect the physical properties of molecules.
